A-Listings: Celeb Athletes Bring Their A-Game to the Market
This week, 4 out of 5 A-listings come straight from the world of sports, with Kurt Warner, Deion Sanders, Yao Ming, and Greg Jennings putting their homes up for sale.
In contrast to these 300-pound football players and the 7-foot 6-inch Ming, the fifth celebrity putting her million- dollar property on the market is reality court show star Judge Judy Sheindlin. What she lacks in size she makes up for in her ability to ruthlessly put litigants in their place…We wonder how perspective buyers will fare when they try to negotiate the listing price for her New York City apartment.
Judge Judy listed her 3,000-square-foot Fifth Avenue apartment (pictured above) for $9 million. Views of central park adorn this sun-lit space that boasts a wood paneled library, formal dining room and recently renovated kitchen. According to AOL Real Estate, the classic design of the cheerfully warm space contrasts her abrasive, no-nonsense on-air personality.
No NFL star’s Super Bowl open house would be complete without a poolside screening of the game. Although Kurt Warner isn’t auctioning his 11,300-square-foot Arizona home until the end of the month, the former football star held an open house on Super Bowl Sunday where prospective bidders could take a look at the 6-bed, 7-bath single-family home.
After Yao Ming’s retirement from the NBA in 2011, the former Houston Rockets player headed back to Shanghai, China. It was only a matter of time before his Texas home hit the market, now listed for $3.99 million. The Hunters Creek Village Estate is fit for a Ming, with 12,000-square-feet of living space, a giant marble whirlpool spa in the master bedroom and massive backyard pool.
Deion Sanders is looking to move his luxury apartment (pictured right) off the market quickly, as the two-sport professional athlete recently re-listed his Texas home for $4.5 million. Equipped with 5,081-square-feet, a two-story living room and private amenities, the Dallas Penthouse was previously offered for as much as $7.5 million.
If you’re a sports fan, you know Greg Jennings from his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers. If TV is more your thing, then you’ll recognize Jennings as the Old Spice spokesperson. The athlete/commercial star has listed his 4,788-square-foot home in De Pere, Wis. for $525,000. Realtor.com reports that the receiver’s status with the Packers is in question, so Jennings decided to list the Green Bay home.
