A $37,900 Thank You Gift
If you want your house sold quickly, you might want to add a friendly incentive and buy your agent a car. At least that’s what a man in Richmond, Virginia is doing.
On April 16, 2012, a press release issued by Long and Foster Real Estate Inc. in Midlothian, Virginia explained that Ken Jenkins wants his Midlothian home sold and his gift to the realtor is going to be very generous. Whoever sells his house will be the proud new owner of a 2012 C Class Mercedes Benz, a $37,900 car, courtesy of Mr. Jenkins himself. And if the agent passes up on the new ride, the owner will hand over $30,000 in cash instead.
The 3,800-square-foot home’s price tag is $1,900,000 and is placed on a little over 10 acres of land. According to the release, the home, listed by Susan Stynes, features amenities like a security system, a heated in-ground pool and imported Parisian bathroom fixtures. Its listing on Realtor.com explains that the house was built in 2002 and also boasts a 3-car garage.
