Are you feeling the heat? It may be coming from the Kalamazoo Artisan Fire Pizza Oven. Priced at $6,495, the oven can reach an excess of 800 degrees Fahrenheit and features two independently controlled burners to customize its temperature.
“We built the Artisan Fire Pizza Oven to deliver a better, more unique cooking and entertaining experience,” says Pantelis A. “Pete” Georgiadis, president of Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet — the leading manufacturer of high-end outdoor kitchen equipment. “There is a certain romance built into this oven.”
Not only is this the first countertop outdoor pizza oven, Kalamazoo took care to include well-thought out details. For instance, the open front allows for watching an edible creation from start to bubbling finish. The oven also incorporates the qualities of a traditional brick-lined, wood-fired pizza oven encased within a gas-fired stainless-steel shell.
Need for Speed
Accelerating from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.6 seconds, the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 is a dream machine. And why stop at 60 mph? This fine piece of metal — named after racecar driver Pierre Veyron — can reach a top speed of 253 miles per hour.
In addition to its lightning-fast speed, drivers will be kept safe with the Veyron’s superior torque, a well-balanced steering system and the ability to brake as quickly as the car accelerates.
Hugging turns and championing straight-aways at a high speed comes at a steep price; the Veyron 16.4 is the fastest vehicle of all time and is priced at $1.7 million.
See the Light
“There is a big ‘wow factor’ that comes with LED-enhanced countertops,” says Bertrand Charest, president and CEO of ThinkGlass. “Encompassing light within the glass itself adds a whole new dimension of design possibilities. With lighting, you can change the look of your countertop for a special occasion or simply to suit your mood.”
Whether looking to infuse a countertop with a soft glow or create a dramatic statement — adding different colors and special effects, such as flashing or fading lights — ThinkGlass’s customized, hand-poured products are one-of-a-kind.
The average retail price for the glass countertop ranges from $225 to $325 per square foot. The color LED lighting system ranges from $110 to $160 per linear foot.
A Far Cry From Gilligan’s Island
Located in West Palm Beach, Fla., Pioneer Linens Yacht Linens Division caters to owners, captains and crewmembers of luxury yachts through superior white-glove, shore-based services. Whether looking for the highest quality bedding or napkins with fine embroidery, Pioneer Linens offers “luxury linens for your mansion at sea,” says Jay Crockenberg, senior yacht consultant for Pioneer Linens Yacht Division.
As each yacht’s atmosphere and size varies, Pioneer Linens’ consultants know the best way to outfit any vessel. Before selecting the appropriate linens — from easy-care crew sheets that begin at $350 to a $1,400 cashmere blanket — Crockenberg inquires about the amount of storage available, laundry accommodations and how the yacht will be used.
