CAKEWALK: Largest Yacht Built In The U.S.
At 281 feet and 2,998 tons, Cakewalk is the largest yacht built in the U.S. since J.P. Morgan’s fabled Corsair IV of the 1930s, but eclipses this classic as the biggest ever built in the United States when measured by volume. Upon delivery last year, Cakewalk captured the attention of the superyacht world as one of the most spectacular new yachts to hit the water in 2010 and is now offered for sale for the first time. From the recessed dining salon ceilings adorned with hand-painted canvases to the majestic staircase ascending to four of the six decks, this elegant motor yacht is the epitome of gracious cruising. The furnishings, exotic woods and distinctive appointments create an air of unmistakable comfort and warmth.
Cakewalk is making her debut in the Mediterranean this summer, where she is available for inspections with immediate effect. She will also be exhibited by Burgess at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show (21-24 September), as the newer of the two yachts that are tied to be the largest on display this year. While the price is upon application, industry experts estimate the selling price to be more than €150million EURO.
Al fresco living at its ultimate has been conceived over four deck levels. The sun deck is beautifully furnished with a range of observation chairs, sun loungers and card tables, along with a bar and large whirlpool spa. The additional three external decks afford a perfect blend of open or shaded seating for relaxing, dining or entertaining on a grand scale.

Built at Derecktor Shipyard to exacting standards, under the close supervision of a highly experienced and knowledgeable owner’s team, Cakewalk is a remarkable vessel in all respects. Her flowing lines and accentuated curves were created by Tim Heywood Design, lending the yacht fabulous presence on the water and making her instantly recognizable. The technical areas of this yacht have been planned in meticulous detail and executed to the very highest standards, with close supervision from the owner’s captain and chief engineer.
Cakewalk’s classically styled interior was designed by Elizabeth Dalton, and despite her volume and grandeur, retains an atmosphere of both intimacy and warmth. The attention to detail and craftsmanship is impressive with rich rosewoods and oaks featured throughout many of the guest areas. A grand sweeping spiral staircase and an elevator links four deck levels. Interior highlights include a main saloon with a baby grand piano and a library with a marble fireplace.
The owner enjoys a superb private deck comprising a vast 7-room master suite, with study/lounge, lavish his/hers marble bathrooms, gymnasium and day spa. The foyer of the owner’s deck leads aft into a large saloon complete with bar, relaxing lounge area and cinema/theatre. All guest accommodation is situated on the main deck, comprising: four cabins with king size beds, two cabins with two double beds and one staff cabin with twin bunk beds. Guest cabins are spacious and extremely comfortable, benefitting from large windows providing stunning views and an abundance of natural light.
An impressive inventory of tenders and watersports equipment is stowed in a dedicated climate-controlled garage which opens with large shell doors to port and starboard, including: 4 WaveRunners, complete scuba gear, 2 Seabob water scooters, full complement of water skis, kneeboards, wakeboards and inflatable water toys, beach party equipment (BBQ, tent chairs, and tables), custom mountain bikes and sea kayaks.
