Golf Writers Association Awards Lake Nona Residents

Lake Nona residents Graeme McDowell and Yani Tseng were recently voted Player of the Year by the Golf Writer’s Association of America.

McDowell became the first European to win the U.S. Open in 40 years. He won the deciding match for Europe at the Ryder Cup in Wales and beat Tiger Woods at the Chevron World Challenge. McDowell won the Golf Writers Trophy and is the second Irishman to win Player of the Year in the last three years.

Tseng won two of the LPGA’s four majors, winning the Kraft Nabisco in March and the Women’s British Open in August. She scored eight top-10 finishes and was the LGPA’s Rolex Player of the Year.
