Congratulations to the Homes of the Year
When we realized Unique Homes would be turning 40 years old in 2011, we knew we had to do something special to commemorate the milestone (let’s face it, lasting 40 years in this industry is quite an accomplishment). Consequently, we have a great year of 40th anniversary content planned for our readers, including our list of the 40 International Markets to Watch in our next issue.
But we started the celebration in our Winter issue with the 40 Homes of the Year. Our staff took on the daunting task of combing through our six 2010 issues — a total of exactly 1,000 pages — to nominate 10 homes in each of four price categories for Home of the Year honors. We presented these homes in print and online, and asked our readers to vote for their favorite in each category. Voting has ended, and we have four winners.
These homes represent quite the spectrum of luxury real estate. From a regal $100 million Lake Tahoe estate to a $12.5 million “barefoot elegant” Cape Cod retreat, and from a $5.7 million private island sanctuary in the Bahamas to a contemporary $2.875 million smart home in Illinois, the residences you selected as our Homes of the Year paint a diverse picture of the high end.
