Ghana: The Next Place For Luxury Condos And Townhomes?

98187911.largeDemand is on the rise for luxury real estate in safe residential neighborhoods in Ghana, Africa, according to GhanaWeb.com.

Major companies in Ghana are showing interest in new properties at a fast rate. Foreign companies also join in the excitement as they search for accommodations, particularly with gated communities and high security, for their foreign staff. Companies such as Meridian Apartments, Purple Oak Ltd. and Blackwell Realty Ltd. are becoming prominent in the area.

The most popular spot for high-rise condominiums and townhomes is the Airport Residential Area, according to GhanaWeb.com. Luxury condo units start at $295,000 and up. Within the complex most residents can enjoy a pool, a gym, a tennis court and a clubhouse.

Additionally, five-star hotels, a shopping mall, high-rise office buildings and a mall for automobile dealers will be built in a new enclave at the Kotoka International airport.

Luxury townhomes dominate within Accra, where the American Embassy resides. These homes are easy to rent for about $4,000 per month. Luxury apartments are also available for around $3,000.

  1. I would have never thought of buying a summer home in Ghana, but it makes more sense now that I’ve read this. I think it’s an exotic alternative to other vacation spots.
