ASID to Help New Talent Stand Out In Stagnant Economy

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) will be at NeoCon’s World’s Trade Fair this week, offering up-and-coming and future interior designers a chance to network with industry professionals and receive valuable advice on how to boost their careers.

Taking place June 14 – 16, four separate forums created specifically for emerging designers and students will allow attendees to gain some fresh perspective on the design industry and the current state of design — a beneficial experience for those entertaining careers in luxury design.

Schedule of Events:

June 15
Design it Forward forum — 1-3 p.m.
Facilitated by Emily Pilloton, the founder and director of Project H Design, a nonprofit organization aiming to “improve the quality of life for the socially overlooked,” this event will feature a panel of young designers.

Emerging Professionals Town Hall — 4:30-7 p.m.
A panel and Q&A session with ASID Fellows and the debut of the Fellows Project video will give professional advice to rising designers. To attend the networking cocktail hour at 4:30 p.m., attendees must RSVP.

June 16
Rise Up! Emerging Professionals Networking — 8 p.m.
Meet up-and-coming designers from around the country.

Career Exchange — 9:45-11:45 a.m.
Interact with industry professionals from architecture and design firms. Designers will have the opportunity to showcase their portfolios and discuss their work.
