The Ultimate Bath
Voting has ended, and our readers have selected their favorite bath as part of our Ultimate Bath contest. With a dominating 64% of the vote, the bath at 37 Ualei Place, Makena (Wailea) Maui, Hawaii, is the “Ultimate” bathroom. It is part of an amazing $14.995 million listing from Brian Bouley of the Berry Realty Group, LLC. Brian’s wife, Corinne, designed the entire house, from the floor plan to the finer details, and the couple even traveled to Bali to select materials.
Hale O’ Ola (House of Life) features a master bath with a tub and vanity sinks made of single river rocks carved in Bali, Indonesia. The bath fills from the ceiling, and if it overflows, water drains away in the river-rock basin below. The flooring is Egyptian travertine with embedded fossils, and the rain shower is outside. Enjoy surround-sound speakers and a flat-screen LCD TV as well. Tyra Banks chose the estate to film “America’s Next Top Model” in June 2009 — it aired last fall. The bathroom was seen in many of the last 6 episodes.
