New Jersey town sees townhouse sell for highest price in years
HOBOKEN, NJ — A single family townhouse at 1028 Willow Avenue has sold for $2,295,000, the second highest price ever paid for this type of property in Hoboken, according to the Hudson County Multiple Listings Service, which tracks sales and listings. The sale was also the highest price paid for a single family townhouse in Hoboken since April 2006.
“This was a rare opportunity to own a unique expanse of indoor and outdoor space in a historic, turn of the century carriage factory,” said Matt Brown, senior vice president, who closed the deal with Peter Cossio, also a Halstead senior vice president, in Halstead’s Hoboken office. “It has unbelievable charm and has a unique layout and style for this area of upper Hoboken.”
1028 Willow Avenue is a two-story, 4,000-square-foot former carriage factory with four bedrooms, three and a half baths, an office, two-car garage and an extra parking spot on the street. The bright and airy residence boasts 12-foot ceilings, custom built-in kitchen cabinetry, integrated audio throughout and exposed mechanicals from a 100-year-old elevator system, which includes iron pulley wheels and thick steel cables.
Outdoor amenities include more than 2,200 square feet of outdoor space split between a lush garden and a roof deck adjacent to the kitchen and living room. Parks, fine dining and boutique shopping are steps away from the home.

“We’re proud of our sales team who are breaking records in a challenging market,” said Eugene Cordano, director of sales of Halstead Property New Jersey. “The new owners of this spacious townhouse have everything they need to feel right at home.”
