Two ASID sustainable Design awards open submissions
Ground-breaking leaders in sustainable designs will be recognized by The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) as it teams up with two leading industry magazines, Hospitality Design and Interiors Sources.
Entries opened during USGBC’s annual Greenbuild International Conference Expo. The most popular green conference was held in Phoenix earlier in November to showcase two awards, the Earth-Minded Awards (EMA) and the Bloom Awards.
Interior Sources magazine will feature the Bloom Awards in its second year, and will praise manufacturers and their products across five categories: flooring, lighting, innovative materials, textiles and furniture. Entries will be accepted until Feb. 15, 2010.
Hospitality Design magazine and ASID will feature the EMA Awards in its third year, and will praise students, architects, manufacturers and hospitality interior designers in three categories: project EMA, product EMA and the tomorrow award. Entries will be accepted until Feb. 1, 2010.
“We are pleased to partner again with ASID to recognize achievements in sustainable product development,” said Robert Nieminen, editor of Interiors Sources. “We are dedicated to helping the design community cut through greenwashing by honoring the products and manufacturers that have made significant progress in minimizing their footprints and positively affecting human and environmental health.”
