Sarasota

“When I talk to people all over the country, I find that value has new meaning today,” says Michael Saunders, owner of Michael Saunders & Company in Sarasota, adding, “and I mean value with a big V.” People are buying for different reasons today. Value extends beyond price to how well the home and the location resonate. The intrinsic value that Sarasota offers is the tipping point for many newcomers.

“I am very happy to see definite signs of a slow recovery. The market under $500,000 is very, very active,” says Saunders. In fact, Saunders is actively seeking new listings in that price bracket because the inventory is down to less than a five-month supply. Calls for showings are up over prior months.

The momentum in Sarasota as well as in dozens of other locales not profiled here is on its way to the upper price brackets, where prices are increasingly becoming more aligned with market demands, offering even more value to buyers.
