Art is the Ultimate Luxury

image2Since 1878, luxury French crystal company Daum has been providing the world’s most discriminating collectors with stunning, exceptionally crafted crystal sculptures. Late last month, the storied company unveiled its most recent masterpiece, a 92-centimeter-tall, $19,625 limited edition sculpture titled “Yoko.” Created by artist Marie-Paule Deville-Chabrolle, Yoko is the “very essence of feminine softness and grace, with her long, slender silhouette and soft pastel shades,” says Daum’s Web site. Operating under the tagline “Art is the ultimate luxury,” Daum has collaborated with more than 350 artists including Salvador Dali, Arman, Paloma Picasso, Roland Topor and Manolo Valdes.

Each Daum work of art is hand-crafted using pâte-de-cristal, a rare and ancient glass-making technique dating back to 5,000 B.C. Daum’s pieces encompass several different collections, including the Black & White, Vintage, Botanics, Afric’Art, Love, and China Collections, among others. DaumUSA.com features a list of retailers.
